MonkeyJunk has won a collective 21 Maple Blues Awards, two Canadian Independent Music Awards, a Blues Music Award (USA) in 2010 for best new artist debut (Tiger In Your Tank), and have been nominated three times for a JUNO Award, winning the award twice for Blues Album of the Year in 2012 for To Behold and in 2018 for Time To Roll.
After wading through hundreds of possibilities, the Fonthill Bandshell Summer Concert Series selection committee has once again come up with a truly dynamic program of musical entertainment for its 14th season. The 2019 lineup features 12 great performances between June 20 and Sept. 5, from Juno-award-winning entertainers and musicians hailing from Niagara, nearby Hamilton, the GTA, and as far away as Ottawa.
Patriotic performances mix with Canadian legends and stellar tribute acts this summer for the 12th season of the Fonthill Bandshell Summer Concert Series. The 2017 lineup features 12 great performances between June 22 and Sept. 7, from award-winning entertainers and musicians hailing from Niagara and other nearby Canadian locales. Many of these top entertainers are back with new acts this season, while others are new to the Peace Park venue in downtown Fonthill.
Fleetwood Mac Mania is a stunning visual and musical tribute to Fleetwood Mac. Each veteran player in this 5 piece tribute band brings their spirit to re-create, with incredible accuracy, the look and feel of Fleetwood Mac. With the solo hits of Stevie Nicks as part of the show, the harmonies, instrumentation and on-stage chemistry has surprised and captivated audiences from coast-to-coast.
Irene Torres & The SugarDevils came onto the Toronto music scene in 2011 and made a name for themselves interpreting the music of New Orleans. They wowed audiences with their versatility in playing blues, funk, r&b, jazz, Latin & soul. In 2012 they recorded their first self-titled CD in the cities of Toronto and New Orleans and received rave reviews and international radio airplay. With their first CD, Irene Torres & The SugarDevils were the recipients of a 2012 Sigy Born Award nomination and were the winners of the 2012 Toronto Blues Society Talent Search. In 2013 they won the "Road to Memphis" competition and as a result, had the honor of representing Canada at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN. In 2014 they were nominated for a Maple Blues Award as “Best New Group”.
Alex was born and raised in Cuba, studied guitar with his music teacher father and played bass in a pop singer’s band, before moving to Canada and launching a career performing his own original works. He’s toured his trio to venues around the world, released four albums and earned 18 awards and nominations for his music, including two Junos and 3 Latin Grammys.
Take a trip down memory lane with the songs of pop and country music legend Glen Campbell along with friends from “The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour” television show including Anne Murray, Johnny Cash, Bobbie Gentry, Roger Miller, and Kenny Rogers. Mega-hits by country rocker Tanya Tucker and The Beach Boys (of which Glen was a member) round out the bill.
"Legends of the 1950's" is a world-class musical tribute to Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper and "The King of Rock and Roll", Elvis Presley. Backed by the amazing Memphis Cats band, song highlights include "That'll Be the Day" "Chantilly Lace" "Great Balls of Fire" and "Hound Dog" amongst the audience favourites. "Legends of the 1950's" features four international tribute superstars including the incredible Jeff Giles as Buddy Holly, the electrifying piano man Joe Passion as Jerry Lee Lewis, the fun loving Bill Culp as the Big Bopper, and sexy Collingwood Elvis champion Gino Monopoli as Elvis Presley, as well as Kim Ladd as your trustworthy bass player and Jim Casson as that guy from Fenwick who plays drums.

The ten person volunteer group have put together a sensational line up of musicians including the incredible Jully Black, Canada’s queen of rhythm and blues, and Alex Cuba, one of the coolest talents on the Canadian music scene. As part of the celebrations of 10 years of live concerts at the Fonthill Bandshell, we thought we would like to share with you the history of how the Bandshell and the summer concert series came into being. To start, we must take you back to 2006, Fonthill’s 150th anniversary. There were many people who volunteered to help the Town celebrate this memorable event, and several residents had been discussing the idea of building a permanent commemoration of the 150th anniversary.
