The Hotel Dieu is a story revolving around a teenager whose life becomes suddenly challenged after a critical incident leaves him blind. “ The film plays on many different emotions; growing up, family, love and tragedy. As the film jumps through glimpses of his past, present and future, the images are a kaleidoscope of realism and melancholy. It’s a drama, but it’s also just life.” says Adrian Thiessen. The Hotel Dieu is a story almost anyone can understand, on the surface, with a mix of visual and existential layers that aim to inspire.

Through the launch of a successful IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign, The Hotel Dieu established an incredibly supportive following consisting of dedicated individuals from the Niagara Region and across Canada. Thanks to the generosity of local Niagara businesses, family, and friends, The Hotel Dieu received considerable financial and benevolent support.

“Independent filmmaking can only be successful with the help from those who believe in us and who encourage us, and we definitely had that support. So with that, we were able to make an extraordinary film”, said Michael Krasnay Writer and Producer of the The Hotel Dieu. The Hotel Dieu is simply the beginning of a bright and successful future for this group of filmmakers.

Fourgrounds Media Inc. encourages the region to join in on a scintillating gathering of cinema and wine during the Niagara Integrated Film Festival this coming June, 2015.
