Choralis Camerata Greenhouse Gala

Choralis Camerata Greenhouse Gala

Sunday, May 26, 2019 - 14:30

Niagara-based chamber choir Choralis Camerata will be going back in time, to a world of magic and fantasy as its annual Greenhouse Gala celebrates favourites from Disney’s golden age.

The Greenhouse Gala, a yearly fixture at Westland Greenhouse in Jordan (4428 15th St.) will be hosted on Sunday, May 26 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 and must be purchased in advance. They’re available online at www.choraliscamerata.com, by calling 905-646-9225, or by speaking with members of the choir. The Gala will also include a fundraising silent auction.

The 50-person SATB vocal group will dive deep into the Disney vault, moving through a chronology of Disney favourites that range from 1937’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and 1940’s Pinnochio, through the 50’s and 60’s with such classics as Cinderella, Mary Poppins and Lady and the Tramp, to more modern favourites like 1992’s Aladdin, 1994’s Beauty and the Beast, and even 2013’s Frozen.

Choralis’ artistic director David Braun will conduct the choir which will also feature noted soloists Louisa O'Keefe, Melissa-Marie Shriner, Les Block, and Giancarlo Feltrin. The choir will be accompanied by Lynne Honsberger and members of Symphonia Camerata.

“The rich musical heritage of Disney has had a profound effect on not only the musical world, but that of filmaking as well,” said artistic director David Braun. “We look forward to bringing our audience along as we explore some of Walt Disney’s most memorable musical treasures.”
