For Pelham Panthers players, from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12, the new Pelham Community Centre promises a new home for practice and play. When the new Pelham Community Centre opens next year, the Pelham Panthers Basketball Association’s long wait for a “home of their own” will finally come to a close.

This Thursday, Regional Council will host a public meeting and consider a bylaw to add an additional member. This would bring Council to a total of 31 members, plus the Regional Chair. In addition to the 12 Mayors, our governing body currently includes 18 directly elected Regional Councillors – 6 from St. Catharines, 3 from Niagara Falls, 2 from Welland and one each from Grimsby, Lincoln, Niagara on the Lake, Thorold, Pelham, Port Colborne, and Fort Erie.

The Town of Pelham is creating a legacy piece to celebrate Canada 150 to hang in the new Pelham Community Centre. This quilt, made by a local resident, will be made up of 15 iconic symbols that represent Canada. Residents are encouraged to choose a symbol that that they feel most connected with. Sponsors names will be stitched on the back of the quilt.  

It’s beginning to look and feel a lot like Christmas – everywhere we go in Pelham. The holiday spirit began early in Pelham when the Shoppes of Ridgeville hosted holiday open houses over the November 2-4 weekend. Then, the Fenwick United Church also got a jump on the season with Christmas crafts and gifts at their annual Fall Bazaar. And, as if by the magic of St. Nick himself, Christmas street light decorations appeared throughout the Town this past week.

Local businesses contribute items to the Auction. During the past 8 years, the Rotary TV Mega Auction has raised more than $1.29 million which is used by participating Rotary Clubs to improve local and international communities.
