It was a beautiful day for playing in the mud during the annual Rotary Club Pelham Mudfest that took place at fellow member Bissell's Hideaway.  We were out with camera in hand to capture Team PBA: Bill Crysler and Chris Dominey in action.  Here are a few of the photos.

You need to prevent hair loss before your hair begins to thin out – and the answer lies in sensible hair care.  Most people think about preventing hair loss only after they have lost a lot of it. But if you start early (like when you still have a head full of hair) it works out a lot easier both emotionally and financially.

One of my fav destinations Saturday morning is the Welland market. The farmers and venders are very friendly and always take the time to say hello and answer any questions.

While purchasing my favorite olive oil soap I asked Bev of Hawkwood farm if she knew if there was any rhubarb for sale at the market ? She recommended a few farmers and kindly let me store my bags with her for a few minutes as I continued my search. I just love the Welland Market. Next time I’m bringing one of those large rolling bags with a handle. lol

Are you looking for a great venue to show off your wares?  Looking for crowds of happy, festive customers?  Then Canada Day in Pelham is for you!  Vendor applicatons are currentlly being accepted by the Town of Pelham Canada Day committee.

On April 3, 2015 Faith Flagg  was struck by a hit and run driver while walking with friends on Churchill & Haist in Fonthill. This beautiful young 17 year old girl, who was full of life, has a long road ahead of her. Although she has survived this tragedy it has left her with multiple skull, facial and nose fractures. Over the last 2 months she has been back and forth to MacMaster Hospital where she has had her first of many surgeries on her brain...

On May 9th, the Fonthill Lioness participated in the Canadian Diabetes Clothesline Program,  collecting used clothing and household items.  We collected 101 bags an 65 boxes.  Thank you to the community for taking part in this endeavour.

The Purina® Walk for Dog Guides is a national fundraising walk held in more than 200 communities across Canada. The Fenwick Walk, organized by the Fenwick Lions, took place on May 24th.  Participants went from Centennial Park around the Cherryridge subdivision and back to raise just over $3,900 for the Lions Foundation of Canada.  Two of the the participants are future guide dogs, Taffy & Webley, pictured right with their foster family.  All of the participants had a great walk. Many thanks to the Fenwick Lions for lunch and to everyone who sponsored this event.

The sold-out crowd raised more than $21,000 at the prohibition-themed 7th Annual Pelham Mayor’s Gala at Lookout Golf Club on Saturday.

I came across and interesting blog on Facebook recently. One of my favorite artists, Thomas Barbey, wrote about a translation issue. He writes:

The two major rivers in Niagara are the Niagara River and the Welland River. The Niagara River flows from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario and is a source of considerable hydro electricity. The Welland River flows from Hamilton to Niagara Falls but manmade construction changes its path. When the water from the Niagara River is diverted to the hydro canal for electricity production, the Welland River flows backwards upstream as far as Wellandport.

I haven’t written here lately because my family and I travelled to Europe for a couple of weeks on a long-planned trip. While there, we attended some special commemorations.

Going to get your haircut can be quite an intimidating experience, especially it it’s your first time in that particular salon or barbershop. Many men struggle to decide how they want their hair cut and for an easier life often give the stylist one of two responses, which are: “whatever you think would suit me”, or “a shorter version of what I’ve got”.
