One of my fav destinations Saturday morning is the Welland market. The farmers and venders are very friendly and always take the time to say hello and answer any questions.

While purchasing my favorite olive oil soap I asked Bev of Hawkwood farm if she knew if there was any rhubarb for sale at the market ? She recommended a few farmers and kindly let me store my bags with her for a few minutes as I continued my search. I just love the Welland Market. Next time I’m bringing one of those large rolling bags with a handle. lol

On April 3, 2015 Faith Flagg  was struck by a hit and run driver while walking with friends on Churchill & Haist in Fonthill. Over the last 2 months she has been back and forth to MacMaster Hospital where she has had her first of many surgeries on her brain...

The two major rivers in Niagara are the Niagara River and the Welland River. The Niagara River flows from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario and is a source of considerable hydro electricity. The Welland River flows from Hamilton to Niagara Falls but manmade construction changes its path. When the water from the Niagara River is diverted to the hydro canal for electricity production, the Welland River flows backwards upstream as far as Wellandport.

I haven’t written here lately because my family and I travelled to Europe for a couple of weeks on a long-planned trip. While there, we attended some special commemorations.

Going to get your haircut can be quite an intimidating experience, especially it it’s your first time in that particular salon or barbershop. Many men struggle to decide how they want their hair cut and for an easier life often give the stylist one of two responses, which are: “whatever you think would suit me”, or “a shorter version of what I’ve got”.

If you're an investor, you know the impact that volatility can have on your portfolio. Ups and downs in financial markets, individual securities and even mutual funds can have you smiling one day, worried the next.  However, it is possible to manage volatility so price fluctuations won't be such a concern. During the May 4, 2015 meeting, Council requested that staff consult with the Town's Insurer and Legal Counsel to advise how the Town's liability is impacted during Bandshell Concerts that occur in an unlicensed area of Peace Park where alcohol is known to be consumed. Both the Town's Insurer and Legal Counsel opined that since the Town is aware of these facts it has a responsibility to take proactive steps to ensure compliance with applicable laws and by-laws to help reduce liability.
