Acupressure is based on the principle that universal energy flows through pathways of the body otherwise called meridians. Applying pressure(no needles) to certain points frees up congested/ blocked areas of energy allowing it to flow freely, keeping the body & mind balanced.
Some Regional Councillors congratulated themselves for approving a “combined 0.03 per cent reduction in the Region’s Water and Wastewater budget, resulting in a net operating budget of $108 million.” A recent news release quoted the Regional Chair that, “These reduced budgets show that our Council is focused on affordability for Niagara residents.”
High school students across Niagara were challenged to use their creativity to speak up on the issues of affordable housing and homelessness by participating in the ‘Be a Voice’ contest.
The contest was organized by Habitat for Humanity Niagara in partnership with the District School Board of Niagara, Niagara Catholic District School Board, Niagara Regional Housing, Niagara Poverty Reduction Network and the Niagara Prosperity Initiative through the Niagara Region, in the hopes to raise awareness about the importance of affordable housing in our community.
The Fonthill Lions Club recently held a BBQ to raise funds to help offset some of the many costs incurred since Faith Flagg was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident. The BBQ was held at E. L. Crossley School where the students and staff supported it greatly.

Today, Mayor Dave Augustyn stopped in at Fonthill Sobeys to present Ron Kore with the 2015 Corporate Peer Award. He offered his thanks to Ron for his generosity to so many charities and commitment to improving our town. Ron was unable to attend the Town of Pelham Volunteer & Community Corporate Recognition Ceremony held at the end of October. At the event it was formally announced that Fonthill Sobeys is this year's Corporate Peer Award recipient.

Do you have any suggestions on how the Town should spend your money? Council will begin our 2016 budget process with a special public meeting where we listen to you and other members of the community about what you would like to see in next year’s and future budgets. That meeting will occur on Monday, November 30 at 6:30 PM in the Council Chamber at Pelham Town Hall.
On Friday, November 6th, Light of Day Canada, an organization committed to raising funds through various events to distribute to Parkinson’s organizations that support Parkinson’s victims and families, hosted Blue Rodeo at the Meridian Centre. Proceeds from the event went to the Steve Ludzik Centre for Parkinson’s Rehab, The Michael J. Fox Foundation and Parkinson’s Society of Ontario. Steve Ludzik and members of the Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation were asked on stage to be recognized for the great work they do in their community.
As the season of giving quickly approaches, plans for the 25th annual Pelham Community Food Drive are well underway. As part of the Christmas in Pelham weekend events, the food drive will take place on Saturday, December 5th starting at 9:30 am.
