Soup's On January 31st - Last Chance for Tickets

Soup's On is a one-day luncheon that raises scholarship funds for high school graduates. This special fundraiser is a partnership between the St. Kevin's social justice committee, Niagara College, and high school and business culinary programs.

Over the years, committee organizers have presented about $50,000 to high school students who strive to make positive change through social justice and charity activities for their post-secondary studies.

Creating soups for the Friday, Jan. 31, event at St. Kevin's church are Stephanie the Lunch Lady, serving bacon cheeseburger soup; Blessed Trinity High School, serving carrot, ginger and coconut soup; Ecole secondaire Franco-Niagara serving traditional french pea soup and french onion soup; Eastdale Secondary School, serving vegetable beef soup; Niagara College Canadian Food and Wine Institute, serving Scottish butter, bean and bacon soup, and French Canadian tourtière soup; and Notre Dame College School serving Stracciatella.

There are three sittings available — 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased from the church parish office, 303 Niagara St., Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and in the church foyer Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 each. also available by calling Bernie Barkovich at 905-735-3562.
