Mokus Delivers Taste of Hawaii to Jake Shimabukuro at Brock University's Centre for the Arts
It was an exciting Take Out call at Mokus last week as Hawaiian ukulele virtuoso and composer, Jake Shimabukuro placed his order for 10 plate lunches. Restaurant Owners, Gary and Natalie Stickles personally delivered the order to Jake's tour bus in preparation for his concert at Brock University's Centre for the Arts last Friday night.
After his performance, the musician gave a #LocalBIZ SHOUT OUT to the crowd complimenting Mokus on the quality of their authentic Hawaiian fare urging attendees to be sure to go experience Mokus Restaurant of Fonthill.
The Stickles were also given a pair of tickets for the show and were thrilled to have Jake autograph their family's ukulele!
In his young career, ukulele wizard Jake Shimabukuro has already redefined a heretofore under-the-radar instrument, been declared a musical “hero” by Rolling Stone, won accolades from the disparate likes of Eddie Vedder, Perez Hilton and Dr. Sanjay Gupta, wowed audiences on TV (Jimmy Kimmel, Conan), earned comparisons to Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis, and even played in front of the Queen of England.
For those of us who missed the concert we thought we'd share this VIDEO of Jake playing his rendition of "Over The Rainbow".
