Just Released! Niagara Association of REALTORS® April Statistics

The Niagara Association of REALTORS® (NAR) reported 683 residential sales through NAR’s Multiple Listing Service (MLS®) System in April 2019. This represents an 18.4 per cent increase in sales compared to April last year.

“Spring typically brings increased selling activity in the real estate industry, says NAR CEO Carolyn Bones- Poley. “We have seen a healthy increase in new listings month-to-month, which means more choice for buyers.”

The average sale price for residential properties increased by 7.2 per cent to $492,042 from April 2018, while the total number of new property listings also saw an increase to 1,141 in April 2019 compared to 981 in 2018.

Year to date, property transactions total 2,382 vs. 2,076 in May 2018. This represents an increase of 13.72 per cent. The year to date average price of all property types also has increased 9.12 per cent versus last year.

“This is strong year-over-year growth in sales.” says NAR CEO Carolyn Bones-Poley. “We are going into peak-season with a healthy pool of listings.”
