Habitat for Humanity Female Build in Welland
WHAT IS WOMEN BUILD?
Habitat for Humanity Niagara’s Women Build promotes the involvement of women in the construction of Habitat homes by hosting build projects with the majority of the planning and execution undertaken by women volunteers. Women Build is not about excluding men but it is all about including women!
NO CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
We teach you all you need to know! Skilled Crew Leaders will work with all teams to help guide them as they build a home.
Safety always comes first on our work site so proper attire must be worn including steel toe shoes and work gloves. Habitat Niagara will provide CSA certified hard hats and eye protection. Safety training will be given at the beginning of the workday.
To keep build costs low, we encourage each volunteer to bring a basic set of tools with them (hammer, tape measure, pencil, utility knife, gloves and a tool belt).
A HANDS ON EXPERIENCE YOU WON'T FORGET!
The 2015 Women Build involves teams of 6 to 8 women that will be building a semi-detached home for TWO Niagara families in Welland from June to September.
You can form your own team in your workplace or with friends and family, or we can match you with a team. Every participant is asked help fund the build through fundraising:
- Individuals are required to raise at least $250
- Corporate Teams are required to raise at least $2,500
- Prizes will be awarded for Individuals and Teams that raise the most funds!
The 2015 Women Build homes will be constructed with the generous support from hundreds of volunteers, donors and sponsors. Here is your chance to get involved!
Donate to an individual builder, team or the build as a whole (Donations over $20 will receive a charitable tax receipt)
