Carousel Players Present Bad Hat Theatre’s “Peter Pan”
Pirates. Lost Boys. A ticking crocodile. J. M. Barrie’s classic story about the boy who wouldn’t grow up will come to life this fall in a lively musical reimagining for kids and kids-at-heart touring Southern Ontario from October 10-28, 2018.
Carousel Players, Niagara’s professional theatre for young audiences, is proud to announce its production of Bad Hats Theatre’s award-winning adaptation of Peter Pan. With live acoustic music and inventive design, this playful show encourages kids and kids-at-heart to dream, imagine possibilities, and embrace the power of make-believe.
The tour will travel to Beamsville, Burlington, Fort Erie, Grimsby, Mississauga, Niagara Falls, Niagara on the Lake, Pelham, St Catharines, Welland, and Wainfleet. Dates, times, and venues are listed below. Tickets are on sale through carouselplayers.com and at the door.
This adaptation of Peter Pan fills the beloved story with original music that carries influences of folk and jazz, performed live by 11 musicians/actors. The performers draw the audience into the world of make-believe, creating magic without needing wires or technology. The innovative staging and the audience’s imagination make it seem that the characters are truly flying.
Peter Pan, as adapted by Bad Hats Theatre, received three Dora Mavor Moore awards and was successfully remounted at Soulpepper in 2017. With a talented cast of emerging artists and engaging acoustic music, this production explores the power of creativity and storytelling with a lively energy that will charm audiences from ages 3 to 103.
The Community Tour of Peter Pan is supported by the Niagara Region, through the Niagara Investment in Culture Program, and by the Niagara Community Foundation.
