Love Apples? Vineland Research and Innovation Centre's Annual What's Grown' On Open House at their research farm is taking place in the fall this year. The focus will be on the latest research of their apple breeding program.

The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) is governed by a Board of Directors appointed from participating municipalities (Region of Niagara, City of Hamilton and Haldimand County).

As stated in the NPCA 2014-2017 Strategic Plan, within the parameter of “Transparent Governance & Enhanced Accountability,” the NPCA will “Expand public participation to support NPCA governance via the establishment of an Advisory Committee (conservation, agriculture, landowners, development, industry, volunteer sectors).

L. Klager Park on Saturday August 24th.

Now in its 3rd year SLIDERFEST, presented by PenFinancial Credit Union, is the Fonthill Lions Club’s largest fundraiser.  The Fonthill Lions are celebrating 75 years of community service.

Funfest organizers and corporate sponsors presented Barb Van Der Hayden and Jessica Trepani with a cheque for $8000 in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Niagara. Barb thanked the club for the ongoing support and noted  programming costs $1000 per child annually per child. We have just provided programs to support 8 kids this year!
