Kristin McKay grew up in Niagara Falls. She briefly moved to Richmond Hill where she started working as a tutor for Tutor Doctor. Through Tutor Doctor, Kristin became extremely passionate about tutoring and making a difference in the lives of many families. She decided that she wanted to reach out to help even more families by bringing Tutor Doctor back to her hometown. What is Niagara Community Bikes we asked? Colin Ferguson was happy to share his vision of the new social enterprise he is launching to serve our Niagara community.

"I am starting and hoping to build Niagara Community Bikes in our region.  The goal is providing the community with affordable means of transportation and moving on education and a place for people to work on their own bikes.

Penny Lane of Royal Lepage and I founded the Professional Referall Group 9 years ago.  Our decision to form PRG was based on a need in our community to create a referral group of Professionals who have a longstanding reputation of offering excellent service for their clients.  Our continued success is a result of maintaining our high standards of Membership and this has resulted in attracting top rated Professionals who to want to join our group.  We have limited the size of PRG to less than 20 so that our members get to know each other and get a good understanding of their business.

More than 63,000 Niagara residents can rest easier today thanks to free identity protection they now receive through their Plus and Premier CAA membership. The 104-year-old auto club is calling special attention to this new protection Saturday, April 25 with a free document shredding day. 

On Monday, April 20, 2015 Council approved a number of requests from the Pelham Farmers’ Market, Pelham Supper Market and Fonthill Bandshell, to help improve the Thursday Evening experience in the Town of Pelham. The family-oriented evenings draw large crowds and offer a unique experience of food, family, friendship, music and fun.

Ken and Beverly Byberg have taken the turbulence out of aircraft donations when they turned over their 1974 Piper Seneca twin-engine aircraft to the North Bay Canadore College School of Aviation recently. It’s not often someone donates an airplane to a school, but the Bybergs, owners of Island 10 fishing lodge on Lady Evelyn Lake, have done just that as a means to give back to the aviation industry. The aircraft is valued at $100,000. Canadore College has been a leader in Canadian aviation training for over 40 years.

This new 10,000 square foot home renovation outlet and donation centre brings Habitat’s celebrated ReStore to 2499 Highway 20 East in Fonthill, allowing residents in the Southern Tier of Niagara better access to discount construction and home goods and a place to donate their gently used items.
