The Pelham Midget team, sponsored by Boggio and Parton Fonthill Pharmacy, closed out their regular season and opened their playoffs with 2 strong games. In their final July regular season game, Pelham came from behind to defeat Niagara Falls 11-10, with timely hits by Bantam call up players Jake Nunn, Josh Stuart, David Papineau, and the game-winning RBI drive by Charlie Devries, who had 3 hits on the night.

Pelham Cares recently received a very generous donation from Fonthill Sobeys! As a result of the recent renovation, Sobeys donated over $25,000 in grocery and personal care items. Ron Kore of Sobeys commented that is important to support families in our community, ensuring that this donation came directly to Pelham Cares.

As the summer months start taking us into fall there will be less days at the pool and more time spent getting ready to be back in the classrooms! Just as important as the notebooks and pens, new clothes, and fall jackets; your child's hair needs some TLC too! Summer is the time to be free, sit back, relax, and just let things be! Sadly though the start of August brings us back to reality but the knots and the chlorine filled hair might be too much for any parent to tackle on their own! So, we want to help!

Chiropractic treatment is a type of manual therapy which focuses on the source of your pain and dis-comfort in an effort to not only treat your symptoms but to also resolve the problem using specific hands on techniques. The sound we hear from an adjustment/manipulation is not a crack, in fact nothing cracks or breaks. It is a cavitation which is a release of gas and pressure in the joint.

While an RRSP and TFSA both allow you to save money and reduce taxes now or in the future, each has unique features to consider when contributing and withdrawing money. The chief advantage driving contributions to a spousal registered Retirement Savings Plan (Spousal RRSP) is to minimize taxes owing down the road when you each retire by splitting potential taxable income when you withdrawal the money.

Summer is half over and back to school is just around the corner. Wondering what to make for breakfasts on those busy mornings? You want something quick, easy to prepare and something the whole family will like, right? Have I got the answer for you! Smoothies!

Here it is, the end of July….if you haven’t already been to the Welland Museum this summer, there’s still time! Here are some things you need to know now and for later.

The Star Tile Lucky Leprechauns started the playoff season with a bang, tying our friendly rival Pelham Meridian Blue Jays and taking a win against the second placed Welland Yankees 12-7. Kasey made some stellar fielding plays, including ending the Yankees inning with an unassisted play at first.  Julian caught a pop fly and turned on the offense with several long ball hits to cache in runs.  Chase got every piece of a pitch, launching the ball into deep right field.  Cameron was the first player of the season to get into a pickle between first and second but he instinctively ran the bases well for a "safe at second" slide.  Adam went three for three against the Yankees and Madison and Olivia contributed to the high scoring Welland game. Onward and upward Leprechauns!

If you want the undivided attention from your stylist or barber, timing is everything.  The beginning and end of the day are quieter so it’s worth asking for the very first or last appointment.

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote here about how Council wanted more information and took a pause in the design of a potential new Multi-Faceted Community Centre (MFCC). Council received that information last week and changed gears a little to design a more affordable facility.
